Xin Xin Famous Fried Oyster

This stall is located in a row of stalls at West Coast Market Square, opposite West Coast Plaza. It faces the main road and is behind the bus stop. This stall has been around for 40 years and is now run by the second generation. I have walked past this stall several times but never tried their food. I had a craving and decided to get a packet to try. Prices are $3, $4 and $5. I got the $5. It took about 8 mins to get my order, as they cook everything to order. Portion was decent. I find more egg than starch in my or luak. The oysters were cooked on the pan for some time, causing them to shrink smaller than their original size due to moisture loss. For the price point here, you can get the largest portion at $5 for what is the cheapest price at other stalls. Will try a dish to dine in the next time to compare the difference.

Tried the fried oyster at Xin Xin Famous Fried Oyster in Clementi West Market & Food Centre, and it turned out to be one of the better local orh luak I've had. The taste has a nice old-school flavour, with a good balance of egg, starch, and savoury seasoning. The oysters were fresh and reasonably plump. The prices are very reasonable at $3, $4, and $5. I ordered the $5 portion and got around 6 to 7 oysters, which is quite generous by today's standards. It is getting harder to find stalls that offer this kind of value nowadays. Although the portion isn't very big, it was still satisfying and enough to satisfy my craving. The food was served hot and freshly cooked. The stall owner was calm and cool throughout, he took my order, quietly got back to cooking, and stayed focused on preparing the food. No unnecessary chatter, just letting the food speak for itself. Definitely a stall I will come back to when I'm craving a good plate of traditional fried oyster.

Cheapest, if not 1 of the cheapest you can find in Singapore (they still sell $3 portion). Most of the time texture is crispy. I think they only operate during dinner.

This is so far the best I ever had!:) The price $3/$4/$5 cannot find elsewhere. Highly recommended to try!:)

This might be the best plate of orh lua I’ve had
