Dian Xiao Er – VivoCity
We had a really satisfying meal here with a spread of their signature dishes. Of course, we couldn’t miss their famous herbal roast duck with Angelica herbs — fragrant, tender, and full of flavour as always.
We also ordered the double-boiled black chicken soup, which was rich and comforting, and the pork tripe pork rib pepper soup that had a nice peppery kick without being overpowering. The pickled mustard fish was appetising and well-balanced, while the roasted char siew was nicely caramelised and juicy.
For vegetables, the stir-fried garlic chives and stir-fried cauliflower were simple but done well, adding a good balance to the meal.
Overall, the food was consistently good across all the dishes we tried. A very enjoyable dining experience and definitely a place I’d recommend if you’re craving hearty, Chinese-style comfort dishes in VivoCity.
